Description

Next People Strategy & Operations - Senior Consultant (London)

AND Introduction

At AND, we accelerate the development of digital capabilities. In practice, that means helping ambitious leaders and organisations build the teams, products, processes and even operational structures they need to close the digital skills gap within their organisation today, so that they thrive tomorrow.

Clients rely on our experience, agility and craft skills across tech and business strategy, software development and product management to address some of the toughest challenges facing their businesses.

We bring aboard thinkers, tinkerers, passionate software craftspeople and inspiring technologists to help us solve these challenges. Together, we’re united by a sense of pragmatism, purpose and a deeply-held belief that digital products and technology alone won’t transform a business or save the world: it’s the people that count.

AND Next Clubs Business Unit

AND Next is tasked with maintaining our high growth trajectory in the coming years by identifying potential locations for new Clubs (“offices”), establishing the business and investment cases, securing funding and then successfully launching them.

About You

As part of our Next Team you will play a key role in building our strategy and the operationalisation of our approach to establishing new clubs across the UK, Europe and beyond. You will have a strong track record working in organisational change or transformational programmes, particularly in helping client organisations successfully migrate to new target model operations and new ways of working.

The role will require you to deal with a range of supplier and commercial negotiations as well as many of the operational issues associated with the launch of our clubs. This is a hands-on role that will require you to lead key work streams as we work towards launch; it is not just about people modelling and planning.

As a result, you will need to be able to:

  • Work in tandem with our recruitment, mobility and on-boarding teams to ensure that ANDis joining our new clubs land well as they are launched
  • Support negotiations with clients, partners and suppliers where there are HR and employment policies to align and agree
  • Develop our Next Team People and Talent management strategies as we look to expand our club footprint beyond the UK and make sure that we can successfully embed the AND culture into these new teams
  • Understand, refine and then implement key people and talent strategies to enable the new AND clubs to deliver against their mandates
  • Assist in client negotiations and shaping commercial relationships
  • Work across workstreams in the delivery of our new clubs but also in their planning and execution
  • Conduct stakeholder management of our clients to ensure they are aware of key developments at our new club(s)
  • Support AND colleagues (People, Marketing, Technology, Finance, and others) to understand the People and Human Resources implications of new launches and their impact on P&L, opportunities and risk management
  • Actively lead key work streams and the launch of our new clubs

To do that, it’s essential you bring the following:

  • An excellent People, Talent and HR Management track record working in fast moving, disruptive sectors with experience of designing, building and implementing organisational change journeys (this will be for us and our clients)
  • A strong start-up mindset, self-starter characteristics and the ability to work in a tightly coupled team that has high expectations placed on it
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment, performance management and secondment policies and procedures, particularly with Tier One client organisations, and the ability to negotiate and then implement agreed people strategies
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of professional services engagement models
  • Confident and clear communication with strong presentation skills, and the ability to communicate with different audiences and levels, both with clients and within AND Digital
  • Good knowledge of digital and how and why it is different from traditional ways of working, backed up with your own insights and points of view
  • A background in Technology/Professional Services/Consulting companies
  • Advanced Word/PowerPoint/Excel/Google Productivity suite skills
  • Ability to travel across the UK and Europe and work away from home

Joining AND

From the work we deliver, to the way we serve and support our people, we work hard to ensure that there’s nowhere quite like AND. But joining a company is a two-way street: the fit has to work on both sides. So before you apply, here’s three key things to understand about us:

  • We’re built for people - like, real humans. Not ‘resources’ or ‘staff’. That means happiness and wellbeing really do matter to us, and we hate unnecessary hierarchy and bureaucracy
  • There’s no well-trodden path ahead: AND is growing fast and forging a new trail. That’s exciting, and gives us all the autonomy and opportunity we love - but bear in mind it also demands focus, patience and resilience
  • Diversity is a priority. After all, to build great products that a wide variety of different people love to use, we need a wide variety of people to help us build them. So diversity is more than a policy or a word: it’s business critical for us
